How your necklace is designed

Our designs all incorporate wide varieties of beads with different shapes, textures, sizes, and colours. This encourages tactile development and stimulates baby, keeping their attention focused on the task-at-hand. As always, if you would like specific beads you see used on our other necklaces, please let us know and we will try to add these to your necklace for your and your baby to enjoy!

Safety Clasp

All nursing and sibling necklace designs incorporate a unique safety clasp that provides an "engineered weak point". What this does is allows the necklace to "break apart" when pulled with moderate force, but due to the design, beads stay on the necklace and do not become a choking hazard. If the clasp pops apart, simply pop the two halves back together and you're all set! Unlike our competitors, we use a strong, resilient clasp that will not wear out over time!!. Spectra® Fiber Cord

One of the strongest cords in the world. By using this specialty cord, be assured that your Smiley Designs Necklace will not break, fray, or rot, which is what can happen with inferior cords such as hemp, leather, or everyday craft cords. Spectra® Fiber Cord is used primarily in applications where very strong, yet flexible and thin lines are desired. There is no stretch in this cord, meaning your necklace will not lengthen and the beads not sit firmly together over time. It is the ideal cording for nursing necklaces.

Non-Toxic Plastic Beads

Used on every necklace so if your baby does get them in his/her mouth you can be reassured that it will not harm them. We do not use glass beads as they can chip, and we do not use wooden beads, as they can splinter. Safety is our first concern!

Tips on Use

Whenever you are preparing to breastfeed or bottle feed, put the necklace around your neck - It's as easy as that! Spin the necklace around at different feedings to change it up a little. We also recommend purchasing more than one necklace, possibly one for home and one for the diaper bag. Use one for a while and put the other away, when you take the one you have stored away out again it will be like a whole new necklace. After breastfeeding or bottle feeding is done keep one as a keepsake and either give the others as gifts to a new mother or keep it for when your child has one of their own.

Guarantee

Smiley Designs necklaces are guaranteed for 2 years from the date of purchase. If under the extremely rare occurance your necklace does happen to break under normal use, return the necklace and all the beads and it will be re-strung for free, with proof of purchase. Shipping costs to get the necklace back to us are your responsibility, but we will ship it back to you free of charge after it is restrung. Necklaces that are deemed to have been cut will not be covered by this guarantee, but we back our products 100% and will restring a necklace that has been cut for a nominal fee. Unfortunately we are unable to warranty Reminder Bracelets from breakage, but they are still covered by our 14-day satisfaction guarantee.

If you are not completely satisfied with this product, contact us and return it within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, less shipping charges. Please let us know why you weren't fully satisfied so we can make adjustments if needed! Your feedback and satisfaction are very important to us!
